MINIATURE SIMULATED BURNED DEBRIS >MINIATURE SIMULATED BURNED DEBRIS >
Scorch is a two-part ash and burn texture system designed to capture the fragile look of scorched debris in scale.
It builds depth, tone, and atmosphere in any burned environment, from medieval ruins to fire-damaged storefronts. Use it to create subtle surface dusting or layered piles of ash and cinders. Scorch dries firm, holds shape, and adds believable aftermath without the bulk, flake, or mess of traditional materials.
- Two-part burn effect (structural base layer + detail top layer)
- For scorched interiors, terrain edges, and debris piles
- Lightweight, scale-neutral, and artist grade
- Works with scenic cement, diluted PVA, matte medium, and other hobby adhesives

scale-adaptable
Designed to stay scene-neutral. Whether you’re working in 1:64, 1:35, or 1:12, Scorch reads as ash, cinders, and debris without tying itself to a specific genre or time period.
field-tested materials
Developed through hands-on building and obsessive testing. No bulky fillers, no wasted space—just lightweight, artist-grade material that performs in real-world projects.
the two-part system
Scorch is built as a layered system, combining a structural base with a detail-rich top layer. Each part is designed to complement the other, giving you both strength and surface realism in a single product. Together, they create ash and burn effects that are lightweight, versatile, and effortless to apply.
The base layer is a shredded cellulose mix reinforced with synthetic fibers that act as a structural scaffolding. This blend is light yet moldable, allowing you to shape or position it before any adhesive is applied. Once in place, the fibers help it hold form, and when saturated with diluted PVA or scenic cement it hardens into a stable lattice. The result is a foundation that not only locks into shape but also provides the perfect surface for the detail layer to grip, anchoring your burn effects with both strength and texture.
The detail layer is a proprietary blend of artist-grade ingredients, carefully selected for their texture, variation, and scale realism. This layer provides the nuanced look of ash, cinders, and debris while naturally filling in gaps across the base. It’s designed to settle into the lattice created by the fibers, locking detail into place and finishing the effect with convincing surface complexity. Each kit includes a pipette for controlled glue application and a two-sided scoop for precise layering, giving you everything you need to build scenes that look scorched, weathered, and real.

scene-ready for any setting
Scorch adapts to any genre, timeline, or environment. Use it in medieval ruins, tabletop battlefields, urban storefronts, or futuristic colonies. Its layered textures of ash and cinders feel authentic without being tied to a specific scale or era. Wherever fire leaves its mark, Scorch belongs.

tech specs
Net Weight: 30g (combined)
Coverage: Coverage depends on how much destruction you’re building. A single kit can cover roughly the area of a sheet of paper (~90 sq. in) when the base layer is fluffed and spread apart before gluing, or create one dense, high-impact debris field if you go heavy. How deep you go is up to you.
what is it?
Scorch is a two-part texture system made from a blend of shredded cellulose and synthetic fibers for the base, paired with a proprietary mix of artist-grade particles for the detail layer. Together they capture the fragile, layered look of ash, cinders, and burned debris at scale, ideal for scorched interiors, terrain edges, or full rubble piles.
Each set includes both the base and detail layers, along with a pipette for controlled adhesive application and a two-sided scoop for precise layering. Glue is not included.
glue information
Scorch is designed to work with liquid adhesives that soak in through capillary action. Diluted PVA, scenic cement, or matte medium all perform well, binding the fibers and particles into a stable surface as they dry.
Either layer of Scorch can also be used independently for scatter and dusting effects. Other glues and sealers may work depending on your project, experimentation is encouraged!
instructions
Bring the aftermath to scale with ease. Scorch is simple to work with and adapts to almost any scene, whether you’re layering ash across a battlefield, blackening the corner of a ruined building, or building up deep debris piles. Follow these steps to get the most out of every layer.
Instructions
-
Use tweezers or your fingers to place the shredded base where you want ash coverage.
-
With the pipette, apply small drops of diluted PVA glue or scenic cement to set the base. Capillary action will pull the adhesive through the fibers.
-
Use the scoop to lightly sprinkle the detail layer over the surface. Focus on filling gaps or low spots for added realism.
-
Add more diluted glue over the top to lock everything in.
-
Let dry. Material can be nudged with tweezers or tools before fully set.
lab tips
After drying:
-
Layer and repeat for deeper debris
-
Dry brush highlights for a fresh-ash look.
- Incorporate your own charred and burned props amidst Scorch for maximum realism!
